Happy Father's Day to all you Dads out there!!!

I apologize for another email...for those of you new to the group I promise, I don't typically bombard the group with this many emails.

Westmont Updates:
- Friday a group of gentlemen came by Westmont and: 1) fixed the two gates going into the courts by straightening them up and adding a latch to each; 2) raised the net posts on courts 2 and 3, now they are about 1/2" too high but I think they will settle some over time; and 3) tried to fix the fencing at the back of court 1 but I don't think the wire they were trying to use was strong enough so hopefully they will be back soon to try and take care of that as well
- Mr. Seaman sent me the following prices as a rough estimate for the cost of a business sponsoring windscreens at Westmont: "Windscreens on all four sides. It would be a 3 year deal. Cost if logos face the courts only: 1st year $5,000 and years 2 & 3 $1,250 each year.  Cost if logos are on both sides, facing the courts & the roads: 1st year $5,000. Years 2 & 3 $2,000 each year." 
- I asked him what if individual citizens wanted to donate for the windscreens without a logo and he said that it would cost a total of about $2500 (depending on the quality of windscreens purchased), again just a rough estimate.

Optimist:
- I believe, weather permitting, that the plan is still to have Optimist back open by the third week in July

Geri Shea sent in an application to become a USA Pickleball Ambassador for Catawba County earlier this year and it has been approved.  I have not met Geri, but from what little I know, she does a lot with pickleball at both Rock Barn Country Club and Lake Hickory Country Club.  I just wanted to make you aware of this in case you heard that Geri is the Pickleball Ambassador for our county - we actually have two for our county now.  I have not given up my position and will continue to do all I can to help continue the growth of pickleball (and facilities/amenities) in Catawba County!!!
